Rashad Williams is a 2-time Emmy award-winning journalist who joined WYFF News 4 in February 2022 as a weekend Anchor/Reporter. In February 2024, he was promoted to full-time co-anchor of WYFF News 4 at 4pm. As a member of the WYFF News 4 team, Rashad has crafted numerous stories that were picked up and featured in national publications and broadcasts such as The TODAY Show, NBC News Daily, NBC Nightly News, CNN and People Magazine. Most recently, he received an Emmy in Overall Achievement for Best Live Reporter.
Rashad came to the Upstate after spending nearly three-and-a-half years as a multi-media journalist, weekend anchor and producer at WAOW in Wausau, Wisconsin. After freezing for a few years, Rashad is excited to thaw out and enjoy warmer weather in the Upstate!
Rashad was born and raised in Cartersville, Georgia. He is a graduate of Coker College (University) in Hartsville, SC, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. With his return to the Palmetto State, Rashad is thrilled to be telling stories in an area closer to home.
While in Wisconsin, Rashad covered a range of stories including record breaking snowfalls and the polar vortex of 2019, presidential visits, and the kidnapping of Jayme Closs. In under 2 years, Rashad’s work was being recognized by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, with awards in both live reporting and overall personality.
When he’s not working, you can find Rashad working out, sampling new restaurants, exploring new areas or hanging out with his fiancé Alyssa. If you can’t find him, he’s probably watching his favorite sport, wrestling… college, Olympic or 90’s pro…it doesn’t matter which one!
As a former youth and collegiate wrestler, himself, Rashad is excited about taking down stories in the Upstate! If you have any story ideas or suggestions, please reach out.
